Sizing How-to's

Measuring Guidelines and Sizing Diagrams

Please understand that we offer merchandise manufactured by many different designers and sizes will vary from designer to designer. Pets come in a variety of sizes and shapes, and as such, no two are alike.

We suggest that you measure your pet carefully, when making your selection, according to your dog's actual measurements rather than size or pet weight or by pet breed.

If in doubt please contact us at   info@daiseysdoggiechic.com   Our staff is ready to assist in any sizing concerns you may have.  We are delighted to help you make the best choices for your pet.

The following is a collection of sample measuring guides designed to assist in proper measurement of your pet. You may also refer to the size chart  guides provided for each garment on its garment/item description pages.

How to Measure For Clothing and Collars

Body Length:

A. Measure length of pet's back from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Also if dog has a stout build, a deep chest, or is overweight, we recommend going up a minimum of one size for proper fit. If dog is long-backed, like a Dachshund, a smaller size is recommended.

B. For shorter style garments, measure the length of the pet's back from base of neck to base of tail. (Due to the unique styling of midriff garments, they may sit higher on the dog's back)

Neck:
C.
Measure the circumference of pet's neck. Allow some leeway for a comfortable fit. For collar widths; 1/2"-5/8" widths are best for puppies and small dogs. 5/8"-3/4" widths are best for small to medium dogs. 1"+ widths are best for large dogs.

Chest:
D.
Measure girth around the broadest part of the chest, which is typically right behind the front legs.

How to Measure for Beds

When dog is laying down, measure pet's body length from base of tail to tip of nose, and add a minimum of 9"-12". For bolster of cuddler style beds, add a minimum of 5"-7".

How to Measure for Shoes

While dog is standing, place paw on a piece of paper, draw a circle around their paw, and then measure the length and width of the circle you just drew.
